SIBU: Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek says several projects aimed at further developing Kampung Usahajaya Baru, Sentosa, Salim here, are currently awaiting approval.

“As a representative, I am committed to ensuring proper development through Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocations. Currently, there are several projects awaiting approval, which will significantly benefit this village.”

Chieng made these remarks when speaking to the media after distributing a total of 300 containers of bubur lambuk and 300 containers of dates to the residents at Kampung Usahajaya Baru, Sentosa, Salim, in conjunction with Ramadan, on Thursday (March 21).

The programme was organised by the Bukit Assek Service Centre and the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) Bukit Assek Branch.

Chieng added that one of the proposed projects aims to enhance the facilities at the newly constructed multi-purpose hall in the area.

“We aim to equip the multi-purpose hall with comprehensive facilities, including a futsal court, a children’s playground, and a community garden. This will provide residents with a more comfortable and suitable space for relaxation and socialising.”
