MIRI:  The fifth edition of the Gawai Dayak Bazaar 2019 hosted by Persatuan Gagasan Anak Dayak Sarawak (GADS) is not just a platform for nearly 50 stalls to sell their goods but is a potential tourist attraction.

This was pointed out by Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin at the launch of the bazaar in Permyjaya here on Friday night.

He was delighted to see more stalls taking part in the bazaar this year compared to previous years.

Lee proposed that GADS set up an event website in order to reach out to a wider audience in the future.

“I strongly believe that this event can help turn Miri into a more vibrant city in the future,” he said.

The event was initiated by GADS in hope of providing a platform for Dayaks to engage in business.

The bazaar will be held until May 26.

Also present at the launch were GADS president Vicky Gulin Shandom and organising chairwoman Clare Cinderella Kom.
