MIRI: Efforts to promote local singers and Iban songs should be encouraged to develop the entertainment, creative arts, and performance industry in Sarawak, said Anderson Dato Paran
The executive chairman of the BMAS Holdings Sdn Bhd group, an enthusiast in the local entertainment, creative arts, and performance industry made the call during a press conference held at the Grand Palace Hotel, here today.
“We are working towards realising this because the fate and future of the entertainment, creative arts, and performance industry in Sarawak have the potential to grow rapidly,” he said.
He further emphasised that the planned initiatives, to be implemented by the private sector, also depend on comprehensive support from the public, including private companies willing to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
“It cannot be denied that local entertainers and singers require comprehensive assistance and support from the community, including the private sector, so that they can achieve higher levels of success,” he added.
Initially, his group partnered with local Iban singer Rickie Andrewson to create the latest music video for the widely acclaimed song “Bekikis Bulu Betis.” Similarly, his company aims to produce an additional music video for the same song, intending to imbue the essence of “Segulai Sejalai” and promote unity across Malaysian society.
“All our company’s efforts are aimed at assisting our local entertainers and promoting their songs on the national stage and in this region,” he said.
He further mentioned that his company plans to create numerous additional music video clips for local songs in the future, encouraging the public to show their support by liking and sharing them on various social media platforms.
“With comprehensive support from the public and the private sector, initiatives like these will benefit all involved in our entertainment industry, especially young talents in need of opportunities to hone their artistic skills,” he said.
