KUCHING: Seven senior police officers were promoted at the Sarawak contingent’s headquarters today (April 13).
Acting Sarawak Police Commissioner DCP Datuk Mancha Ata officiated at the promotion ceremony.
The promotion exercise saw SAC Wong Ing Fung appointed as the state’s Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief, followed by the promotion of ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili and ACP Ismail Mahmood.
Three officers were promoted to Superintendent (Supt) namely Supt Bingkok John, Supt Nixon Joshua Ali and Supt Bartholomew Umpit.
Other than that, Mancha also witnessed the handover of duties for the Crime Prevention and Community Safety (JPJKK) chief and Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPTA) chief posts.
“The ceremony also saw the handover of the Homeland Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) chief and the post of deputy chief of JPJKK.
“Next, the ceremony continued with the handover of post for district police chiefs in the contingent, namely Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Sri Aman and Simunjan,” it stated on the Sarawak Police Facebook page.
Apart from that, Persatuan Keluarga Polis (PERKEP) Sarawak Contingent chairwoman Datin Jennita Willia witnessed a handover ceremony of the district PERKEP chairwoman for Bintulu, Sibu and Sri Aman.
Earlier, Mancha represented the Sarawak Police Contingent at the Sesi Ziarah Sumbangsih Raya 2022.
Women, Childhood and Community Well-being Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah symbolically presented kuih Hari Raya to the police force.
Also present were Administration Department chief SAC Gilberd Philip Layang, Crime Investigation Department chief SAC Lukas Aket, PULAPOL Kuching commandant SAC Razali Mohamad as other department chiefs and formation, including district police chiefs and PERKEP Sarawak Contingent members.
