MIRI: A four-wheel-drive vehicle caught fire along the Vista Perdana Bypass Road in the early hours of today (Dec 9).
The State Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said they received a call regarding the incident at around midnight which prompted a dispatch from Lopeng station to the scene.
“The incident involved a Pajero car, with the fire concentrated at the front, resulting in 40 per cent burning of the vehicle.
“Firefighters utilised two auxiliary water streams from the engine pump and water from the engine tank to successfully extinguish the flames,” it said.
The operation concluded at 12.45am and after ensuring the surroundings were safe and under control, the team returned to the station.
No casualties or injuries were reported in connection with the incident while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
