MIRI: A proposal for an Integrated Hawker Centre at Taman Tunku here will be brought forward to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Sarawak.
This was disclosed by Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat after visiting an area for unregistered hawker stalls opposite Boulevard Trading today.
Ripin said the proposed Integrated Hawker Centre would include stalls for food and petty traders.
He added that he would be in touch with the Land and Survey Department to identify the most strategic and suitable location for the project.
He appealed to Miri City Council to allow the hawkers to trade at a temporary space near Boulevard mini market in Taman Tunku.
“I would like to remind the hawkers to always comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and to maintain the area’s cleanliness,” he said.
