BINTULU: The ‘COREEFS’ project, aimed at protecting the delicate coral reefs in the waters here, has been launched at Similajau National Park.

This initiative is a joint effort between the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) and the Bintulu Port Authority (BPA).

SFC, known for its dedication to the environment, and BPA, a key player in the area’s economy for over 40 years, have come together to champion the cause of sustainability.

“This partnership marks a big step forward for both the environment and Sarawak,” SFC shared in a Facebook post today.

The launch was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, and witnessed by SFC chief executive officer Zolkipli Mohamad Aton, along with other senior officials from SFC and BPA.
