KUCHING: The two-day Proton 1 Tank Adventure Sarawak leg was flagged off yesterday at the Proton Platinum 3S Showroom, Jalan Tun Jugah, here.
The adventure, which ends today, involves 25 Proton vehicles driven by 52 participants who comprised the public, media and celebrities.
Early yesterday morning, participants arrived at the Proton Showroom to register themselves. After that, they were treated to a light breakfast.
Before the drive, there was a quick briefing on the adventure followed with a zumba session to warm up the participants.
During the drive, the participants are able to see historical, cultural and scenic landmarks in the state, enjoy famous local foods and meet new friends and celebrities.
The Proton 1 Tank Adventure has three preliminary rounds (across Southern Peninsular, Sabah, Sarawak) and one final round.
For each preliminary round, a winner will be selected from three categories, namely, 2019 Proton Saga, 2019 Proton Iriz and 2019 Proton Persona to participate in the final round.
For the Sarawak leg, participants will have to travel an estimated distance of 500km for two days and the winners will be selected based on the best average fuel consumption over the distance they travelled.
The final round of the Proton 1 Tank Adventure will be held from October 4 to 6 with RM100,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
