KUCHING: The top leadership of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has not decided on the position of independent Lubok Antu MP Jugah Mayung who recently applied to rejoin the party.
“From what I know, the party has yet to make a decision on Jugah Mayung. We have not held any meeting on the matter.
“We will only know after the president and top leaders have met on his application and come to a decision,” said party vice president Datuk John Sikie.
He was fielding questions from the media after officiating at the closing of the Gawai Bazaar 2022 at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) community hall compound, on Sunday (June 26).
Sikie, who is the Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department, said he personally was quite positive about Jugah’s return to PRS, but “let’s leave it to the party leaders to decide whether to accept him or not.”
On the coming 15th general election (GE15), he said PRS was ever ready to defend all its parliamentary seats.
“We are always prepared. Even now, our party machinery has been mobilised in the constituencies.
“Our MPs have already on the ground meeting the people. So, we are ready,” said Sikie.
