MIRI: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Pujut branch chairman, Bruce Chai Khim Cheong, has resigned from the party and all positions effective May 6.
“My resignation letter to the party president and secretary general has been duly submitted,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Chai said as a founding member of PSB it was a difficult decision to make but was the only honourable thing to do.
“Having been given the responsibility to lead a political branch and having failed that responsibility, it must be me who takes full responsibility for this failure,” he pointed out.
“Even though, PSB had given me great support and guidance over seven years, I still failed to secure a satisfactory result in the just concluded 12th State Election, having stood and lost as a candidate for PSB in the Pujut seat. That said, I would still like to thank all the voters that had braved the Covid-19 Pandemic and came out to vote for PSB and the other candidates,” he said.
Chai added that he will continue as a social activist through his large social media network and continue to be on the ground through community activities.
