KUCHING: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has announced that Datuk Wan Abdillah Edruce Wan Abdul Rahman and Wilson Entebang will contest in the Lingga and Simanggang seats respectively, in the 12th State election.
The party’s president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh said the two has already been working on the ground for months in preparation for the election.
“Wan Abdillah is a grandson of former state governor Tun Datuk Patinggi Tuanku Bujang and is a very active social charitable worker in the Lingga area.
“Whereas, Wilson is a former deputy director in the State Agriculture Department.
“Both candidates are well connected to the people on the ground and therefore, we have chosen them to stand under the party’s ticket,” he told reporters at a press conference held at PSB headquarters in Jalan Pending, yesterday.
With the two new potential candidates, PSB now has 70 people to contest for the party in the upcoming state election.
Sarawak has 82 state seats, four of which are held by PSB — Bawang Assan by Wong, Dudong (Datuk Tiong Thai King), Opar (Datuk Ranum Mina) and Engkilili (Johnical Rayong Ngipa).
On the party’s preparation, Wong said that the multiracial people’s support towards the party was overwhelming and encouraging.
“If we become the next state government, we will put rural development as our top priority as well as stop all dubious mega projects.
“This is because any development project should benefit the people and improve the quality of life of the people. If it does not go into that direction, then it should not be called development,” he continued.
Also present were PSB secretary general George Lo and Youth chief Johnical Rayong Ngipa.
