KUCHING: The Sarawak Premier Industrial Excellence Award (PSIEA) 2025 strives to propel local companies in the state onto the global platform.
Dr Mazlina Shafi’i, Director of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak Region, emphasized that the MPC is persistently exploring innovative and efficient methods to aid both the public and private sectors in enhancing operational effectiveness.
Reflecting on past editions of the PSIEA, she noted how they have bolstered the eminence and competitiveness of organizations in Sarawak, leaving a positive imprint on the national economy.
“In the wake of this award’s inception, 94 organisations of varied sizes from the manufacturing and services sectors have partaken, contributing to an estimated value creation of RM188 million.
“Our target for PSIEA 2025 is to engage over 50 local companies, with a particular push for the involvement of larger corporations, considering the predominance of small and medium-sized enterprises among the prior participants,” she expressed during today’s (Sep 10) PSIEA 2025 press conference.
Furthermore, Dr Mazlina encouraged firms yet to embrace Business Excellence (BE) to contemplate the adoption of this initiative.
“This BE initiative is all-encompassing, touching not just on leadership, infrastructure, and empowerment but also on how we can seamlessly integrate it digitally,” she elucidated.
It is worth noting that PSIEA has been a biennial event since 2017, orchestrated in strategic partnership with the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and the Sarawak Government.
