SIBU: Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting urged everyone here to stay vigilant and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) strictly to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“It seems like the situations in Kuching and Kota Samarahan are not getting any better. The state government is likely to impose a lockdown again,” he said.

“Thus, I urge everyone to take personal precaution like wearing face masks, practise social distancing and sanitising your hands when and after you are in public. Don’t think this is a Kuching problem. Kuching is not far away.”

He noted that lots of people travel between Kuching and Sibu, so Covid-19 could come here easily.

“There are many who are asymptotic and could be moving among us in public. I urge you to take precautions,” he said.

For those who are over 60 and under 12, stay home, stay away from crowded places, he added.
