DARO: Pulau Bruit has the potential to be an area for hybrid paddy cultivation.
Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and Sarawak Public Communication Unit) Datuk Abdullah Saidol said this is because it has fertile land.
“Because of that, I suggest that Pulau Bruit be made as one of the hybrid paddy planting areas in Sarawak.
“I request that all Community Leaders and Tribal Leaders (KMKK) in Pulau Bruit cooperate in the process of collecting data related to the activities of rice growers throughout this area,” he said here, today.
Abdullah who is also Semop assemblyman said that the data will be used as a benchmark for the proposal to make Pulau Bruit one of the hybrid paddy areas in Sarawak.
“Pulau Bruit is indeed suitable for growing rice because its residents have been doing this activity for decades.
“However, it is traditionally carried out once a year,” he explained.
