MIRI: Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel recently spread holiday cheer by hosting a Christmas buffet for the children of Sarawak Orphans’ Welfare Board (PERYATIM) Miri and the Miri Sunflower Centre, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Held in conjunction with the hotel’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony and three-day ‘Taste of Hope’ Christmas food fair, the children also got the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes by hanging them on the wishing tree.

Present to join the event was Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin on Friday (Dec 1) evening, whereby he also contributed a cheque amounting to RM20,000 and RM10,000 to Miri Sunflower Centre and PERYATIM respectively.

The donations aim to support the forthcoming activities of the centres.

Meanwhile, Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel general manager Alam Tham extended his invitation to everyone to partake in the event, which aims to foster closer ties and unity.

“The Christmas tree lighting ceremony and our three-day Christmas food fair embody the very spirit of our local community, highlighting our unique talents and fostering an ambiance of warmth and generosity.

“We are excited to curate memorable experiences and spread joy throughout this festive period,” he said.

The ‘Taste of Hope’ Christmas food fair features a unique coastal twist to the festivities, with the event to be held from Dec 1 until Dec 3 from 4pm until midnight.

One of the highlights of the food fair is the emphasis on community engagement by supporting local home caterers and food vendors.

Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel aims to provide them with a platform to showcase Sarawak’s rich culinary heritage through a delightful array of ethnic cuisines prepared by the talented local vendors.

Among those present was Miri Mayor Adam Yii.
