KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang has urged the people to pursue the Lifelong Learning Programme (PSH) offered by community colleges.

He said the programme would empower them.

“The community college implements PSH as a core business based on several concepts and contexts such as home schooling which is informal and conducted at home but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this is quite difficult to do.

“However, we are in need of this kind of adult education with a formal concept to obtain the skills certificate needed to start a career or start a business.

“This kind of education will provide participants with on-the-job training to improve professionalism and skills through workshops or courses organised by community colleges such as Mas Gading Community College (KKMG),” he said.

Lo said this when officiating at the Craft Workshop organised by the Women Development Committee of Kampung Haji Baki here recently.

He suggested that the village and KKMG discuss the setting up of an entrepreneurship programme to equip the community with business knowledge so that they could improve their living standards.
