KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak Parliamentary chief whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof yearns for political members of the government and opposition to unify their efforts and cooperate in improving the country’s economic state, instead of disputing issues that will only disrupt the unity of the people.

He explained that politicians should pay close attention and listen to the public and their needs as each and every one of the country’s citizens play a major role in the development of the country and its future.

“Put an end to each of your polemics immediately. If we really put our country first, then we should put our thoughts and efforts for the betterment of the country,” said Fadillah in a press statement yesterday.

“The people are weary and fed up with the uncertainty shown by the leaders of the country from both sides. All the people see are worn out politicians of both sides that only focus on their own survivability and relevancy while ignoring the people’s needs and complaints.”

Fadillah added with almost half of the population of the country made up of people under the age of 25, these groups should be given more attention.

“Younger generations of Malaysian who are filled with hopes and dreams are crushed by the disappointments and dilemmas brought by the instability of our current economic state and the lack of job opportunities,” he said.

“The people see the government nowadays not working for the development and change of the country but only to maintain their status quo.”

Fadillah also stated that most of the protests and dissatisfactions of the people around the world were being led by these younger generations and if these issues in the country continued to be ignored, the same problem might occur in our nation as well.

“I urge all politicians to quit fantasising and start focusing on working towards greater development of the country” said Fadillah.

“We will be judged by the future generations of the country if we refused to work together and not give our bests for the greater good of our beloved country,” he added.
