SIBU: The Sibu Central Fire Station took only three minutes to capture a 10-foot long python that decided to pay a surprise visit to the Sibu Heritage Centre here on Thursday night.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie, they received an emergency call at 9 pm that day regarding the presence of the reptile in the centre.
A four-man team was mobilised to the scene to remove the python using special equipment.
“The team arrived at the scene at 9.02 pm and managed to capture the 7-kg python immediately using the special equipment,” he said in a statement.
The operation ended at around 9.05 pm.
“The reptile was later released back to its original habitat,” he said.
