SARIKEI: The ongoing donation proves the commitment of the state government to improve the quality of education among the younger generation, especially in Repok constituency.
N45 Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said this is an important aspect to ensure that the generation gained knowledge in a safe and comfortable environment.
In this regard, he assured that the move would continue to intensify from time to time.
“Education is an important aspect of humanity. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide the best education infrastructure for the younger generation.
“I take this aspect very seriously because education is the only way to escape poverty,” he said at the SMK Tinggi Sarikei’s graduation ceremony.
Huang said that under the Repok Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project, SMK Tinggi Sarikei received an allocation of RM120,000 in 2016 and RM100,000 in 2019.
At the same time, he urged parents not to give up on the parent-teacher association (PTA), instead, using it as a platform to develop children in academic and co-curricular activities as well as to plan activities and solve problems.
“We must realise that the responsibility of boosting students and school performances is not just on the shoulders of the teachers alone but parents as well.
“I also want to remind each student that the key to success is self-confidence.
“In this regard, I would like to thank the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for approving many of the major impact projects that the people in this area needs,” he said.
