Quality of paramount importance, Lukanisman tells nurses

MIRI: Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni has reminded those working in healthcare services, particularly, nurses,  to maintain and improve quality at work.

Speaking at the International Nurses Day celebration here on Saturday, he emphasised that the nursing profession has been a vital workforce in providing healthcare services  across the nation.

He said to ensure quality in healthcare service delivery, the nursing profession in the country should meet standards or be at par with their counterparts abroad. 

International Nurses Day celebration is celebrated worldwide each year on  August 12 to mark the contributions that nurses make to society.

This year’s theme was  “Our Nurses: Our Future” 

Also present during the celebration were Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong and former Miri Hospital’s Visitors Board chairman Karambir Singh.

More than 50 nurses and healthcare staff from Miri Hospital attended the event.
