KUCHING: Her Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah officiated at  the opening of Juma’ani Pavilion at Vista Tunku Petra Jaya, near here.

The queen’s arrival at 8.14 pm on Wednesday was welcomed by the Premier’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggas Embas and Minister of Tourism, Performing Arts and Creative Industries Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah as well as other guests of honour.

Tunku Azizah, who is also the patron of the Tuanku Nur Zahirah Foundation’s Contemporary Songket Production Centre, spent about an hour at the pavilion, looking at the clothes, handbags and shoes sold there.

The Juma’ani Pavilion is  a four-storey building which houses the Centexs Heritage Fashion Gallery, Centexs Heritage Fashion Production (Centexs Heritage Fashion Production), Designer and Smart Gallery and Centexs Commercial Office.

Juma’ani Pavilion is fully managed by Centexs Commercial in collaboration with Sarawak Technical Excellence Centre (Centexs) and Warisan Pintar Old Kuching (OKSHe).

At the same time, it also serves as a platform for producing products and marketing under the Juma’ani brand by Centexs Heritage Fashion (CHF).

The products available at Juma’ani Pavilion are divided into several categories, namely, Royal, VIP, office wear, family and children’s collections such as clothes, bags, shoes, “Ready to wear”, hijabs, accessories and home appliances.

It  has two types of galleries, namely, Premium and Artisan. At the  Premium Gallery, the products sold  are categorised as Royal and VIP.

The fashion hub is also believed to have the potential to become an international fashion tourism destination in Borneo and Kalimantan.

Also present at its launching  were  Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Rosey Yunus; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations)  Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali;  Deputy State Secretary  (Operations) and Member of the Board of Directors of Centexs and Centexs Commercial Services Datuk Dr. Sabariah Putit; chief executive officer of the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman; Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas’ wife, Datin Amar Doreen Mayang; Minister for Tourism, Creative  Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah’s  wife, Datin Zuraini Abdul Jabar and other representatives.
