DEBAK: A deep understanding of the sacred verses of the Quran fosters the spirit to master various fields of knowledge.
Deputy Minister of Women, Children, and Community Welfare, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, said the Khatam Quran ceremony is more than just celebrating the success of completing the recitation of Allah’s words.
“Beyond that, it aims to ensure that the Quran we read is practiced in our daily lives. Ultimately, this understanding provides inspiration and encouragement to strive closer to the divine and master all fields of knowledge,” he said.
Razi Sitam made these remarks while inaugurating the First Quranic Completion Ceremony at the Betong Division Level 1445 Hijrah, here yesterday.
He emphasised that events like this should be utilised as a platform to achieve the goal of creating a society with a culture of cheerful, joyful, and prosperous living.
“Hence, it is hoped that this ceremony can strengthen the brotherhood among us by fostering feelings of love and strong brotherhood. This is because the Quran invites humanity to unite, form families, and strengthen the bonds of kinship,” he added.
He praised the commitment of the Basic Fardhu Ain Class Committee (KAFA) in the Betong Division, in collaboration with the Saribas State Assemblyman’s Service Centre and the KAFA Club Committee in the Betong Division.
This includes all representatives from 43 schools, comprising 15 schools under the Saratok District Education Office (PPD) and 28 schools under the Betong PPD, who successfully organised the first Quranic completion.
“I welcome the efforts of the KAFA Betong Division in organising this programme to instill love and interest in reading the Quran among children as part of the effort to uphold Islamic principles,” he added.
Earlier, Razi participated in a procession around town.
