KUCHING: The Rafflesia tuan-mudae with a diametre of 58 cm has started blooming at Gunung Gading National Park, Lundu on today.
According to Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) on its official Facebook wall, the flower with five petals is expected to bloom for five days from Jan 5 until Jan 9, 2024.
“Visitors who wished to witness the flower themselves need to walk about 250 metres from the park headquarters and it takes about 10 minutes to 15 minutes’ walk in trail,” SFC said.
The corporation added that guided walk is compulsory and visitors are advised to adhere to the park’s standard operating procedure (SOPs) at all time while enjoying the beauty of our park,” SFC said.
