KUCHING: The Head of State’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib carried out her social responsibility yesterday (Nov 7) by giving donations in the form of food to welfare organisations and tahfiz centres around Kuching.

The programme kicked off at the Salvation Army Children’s Home located at Jalan Uplands here.

The residents were treated to Middle Eastern cuisines such as meat and chicken shawarmas, biryani rice and Turkish Booza ice cream by Al-Amar Lebanese Cuisine, which had been specifically flown in from Kuala Lumpur.

In addition, Al-Amar Lebanese Cuisine also prepared a total of 250 shawarmas to be distributed to Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat Madrasah Al-Khairat, Madrasah Darul Uloom Al-Fatah and Pusat Pengajian Tafaqquh Fiddin & Tahfiz Quran Al-Makki.

Nizar Madi, the director of Al-Amar and Raghad’s son, was also present and handed out the shawarmas on his mother’s behalf.
