KUCHING: The wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib handed over food baskets to 50 recipients during the Deepavali Love Ceremony at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, Petra Jaya, here on Thursday afternoon.
The recipients from the Indian community consisted of students from poor families but excel in their studies besides disabled and elderly people who live alone from around Kuching.
During the ceremony, Raghad handed over baskets with rice and some other necessities to ease their daily burden.
