The government should consider establishing a proper operational camp for the Army Border Brigade.
The formation of the unit has led to many successes by apprehending robbers and drug smugglers at the state’s border area.
“Many Army Border Brigade personnel are deployed at escape routes at the state’s border.
“Thus, I think it is necessary for the government to establish a camp for the unit,” said Opar Assemblyman, Ranum Mina in his debate speech at the DUN sitting, yesterday.
Besides, Ranum also suggested that a police station complete with staff quarters to be built at the Biawak Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (ICQ) to monitor security in the surrounding areas.
“They can help assist the army to look after security at the border crossing,” said Ranum.
