Razi wants closer co-operation among ministry staff

KUCHING: Newly-minted Assistant Minister for Community Wellbeing Development Mohammad Razi Sitam has called on all staff in the ministry to continue to cooperate and work together in carrying out the duties and responsibilities entrusted to them.

The Saribas assemblyman also hoped that all parties would accept his newly appointed post during the formation of the last Sarawak Cabinet.

“I see this appointment as a great responsibility, task and struggle. I will personally do my best for the people, especially in relation to the policies implemented by the Sarawak government for the people.

“Therefore, I personally invite KPWK Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Assistant Minister for Women, Family and Child Development Datuk Rosey Yunus and all other staff to cooperate with me and continue working as a team,” he said.

He was speaking at the handing over of duties held at Bangunan Baitulmakmur II on Monday (Feb 14).

He also requested for guidance from all ministry since he is still new in the ministry.

“I also see that this appointment as the Assistant Minister of Community Welfare is about efforts to create happiness among the people.

“Although it is a heavy task but with good cooperation, we will be able to carry it out,” he reiterated.

Meanwhile, former Assistant Minister of Community Welfare Datuk Francis Harden Hollis hoped that all ministry staff would continue to excel and give full cooperation to Razi as the continuation of the legacy of excellence in the ministry.

“This ministry is close to the hearts of the people, especially in matters of welfare and prosperity of the people.

“After 4 years and 8 months since I was appointed as the Assistant Minister of Community Welfare on May 7, 2017 … I would like to thank our minister (Fatimah) especially for raising the status of the ministry in many new policies that benefit the people of Sarawak.

“Now the ministry has been changed a bit in name but the ministry’s function is still focused on the welfare of the people of Sarawak as a whole,” he explained.
