In his opening speech during the launching of the ‘Reading Corner’ at Long Latie Penan Service centre, Dennis thanked Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri branch for their initiative in setting up the facility.
“This facility, which is the first of its kind here, will help in fostering a culture of reading among our children in the rural areas,” he said.
He added that over the years, the state government have been promoting initiatives to improve literacy in the community, especially those in rural areas.
“I am confident that the new facility will evoke a positive response,” he said.
