KUCHING: Three outstanding students received scholarships from Yayasan Sarawak for obtaining top results in the 2021 Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination.
The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that the scholarships were presented by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in a brief ceremony here today.
One of the recipients, Pressely Bangga Kedidi of SMK Kubong, obtained a 4.00 CGPA. He expressed his delight and thankfulness at earning the scholarship. “I want to thank the Sarawak government. I’m also grateful to my parents and teachers for their support.”
Meanwhile, Nur Zahirah, a student from SMK Kabong, was represented by her father Indra Soekardi at the ceremony. He hoped that the scholarship would motivate his daughter to continue achieving success in the future. “I would like to extend my gratitude to the Sarawak government for this assistance.”
Nasha Izzati Ramlee from SMK Merapok expressed her happiness at earning the scholarship as it enabled her to continue her studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, majoring in education.
She also thanked the Sarawak government for the assistance and “I hope to achieve my dream of becoming an educator.”
