KUCHING: A recycle centre at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here was on fire past midnight yesterday.
A spokesman for State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the department received a distress call at 12.20am on the fire near the Kuching Community Centre Society.
Firefighters from Batu Lintang Fire Station were deployed immediately and were later assisted by firefighters from Tabuan Jaya Fire Station.
When the firefighters arrived at the location, they found out that the recyclable section out of the building was on fire. The fire was then doused immediately.
The structure was 20 per cent damaged by the fire. Police and Sesco personnel were also present at the scene.
No causalities or injuries were reported during the incident and the operation ended at 1.35am.
