MIRI: A team from the Red Crescent branch here reached out to two poor families at Kampung Peninjau, Bakong recently.
The eight volunteers were led by its Welfare, Health and Community Sub-Committee chairperson, Dr Uma Devi.
During the visit she gave them an educational talk on the dangers of plastics, importance of cleanliness and healthy food.
“The team also brought along stainless-steel food containers to be distributed to the two families as part of the exercise to stress on the dangers of plastic containers,”it said in a statement Monday (July 29).
Other items included food baskets, clothing, milk and pampers.
