SIBU: An enforcement officer of Sibu Immigration Department has the front part of his house splashed with red paint on Thursday (June 18), apparently because the suspect was not happy that the officer had detained him previously.

The suspect had also put a threatening note on the gate, warning him and family to be careful.

Sibu deputies OCPD Supt Collins Babat said at about 3.35pm on June 18, while the complainant, 34, was at work, he received a call from his wife who told him that the front part of their single-storey house in Sibujaya was splashed with red paint by an unknown person.

“After receiving the call from his wife, the complainant immediately rushed home and found the front part outside the gate splashed with red paint,” he said.

The complainant also found a threatening note, telling him and his family to be careful for arresting him previously.

“A daughter of the complainant at that time was inside the house. She saw two men wearing a full visor motorcycle helmet on a motorcycle approaching. However she did not see them throwing red paint on the ground as the incident happened too fast,” he added.

Supt Colllins said the complainant believed that the suspects were the Indonesians who were once arrested in February this year.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 427 of the same Code for causing mischief on property.
