KUCHING: Construction is underway for 60 housing units in Darul Hana housing, catering to the residents of Kampung Pulo Ulu.
Deputy Minister of Utilities and Communications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said that the previous townhouse concept was rejected by the local residents, prompting a redesign of the houses.
“Information obtained from various agencies, including the Land Development and Conservation Authority (LCDA), the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the Land and Survey Department, and the ministry, indicates that the initial townhouse concept did not receive positive feedback,” said Abdul Rahman during the Aidilfitri Open House ceremony in Kampung Pulo Ulu, held yesterday.
Pantai Damai assemblyman added that the new design is currently under construction, with an expected completion date in the near future. However, he was unable to provide an exact timeline or project status at this point.
“To obtain comprehensive details on the project’s progress and its estimated completion, we will convene a joint meeting involving the relevant agencies,” he said.
The Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Santubong, officiated at the ceremony here.
