TATAU: The 2024 Regatta Tatau kicked off Saturday morning (Sept 7), transforming the calm waters of Batang Anap into a competitive arena filled with speed and skill.

The regatta was launched by Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, setting the stage for a day of excitement and high energy.

The morning races featured five competitive categories, each delivering intense moments and close finishes that stirred the crowd.

In the 20 Paddlers Bidar/Temuai race, Kasihnya Warisan claimed the top spot and third place, while Kueh Brother 2 finished a close second.

The competition intensified in the 7 Paddlers Bidar/Temuai race, with Sama Samalaju paddling to victory. Kueh Brother 3 and BDA 3 followed in second and third place respectively.

Sama Samalaju continued their dominance in the 10 Paddlers Bidar/Temuai race, securing first place, followed by Kueh Brother 3 in second, and Sama Samalaju 3 in third.

The 15 Paddlers Bidar/Temuai race was another highlight, with Kueh Brother 2 powering through to take first place. Sama Samalaju placed second, while Sama Samalaju 3 finished third.

In the 7 Paddlers Temuai category, Sri Anap emerged victorious, with Pesaka Data Bian in second place, and Sri Jelai in third.

With afternoon races and more events scheduled for the following day, the 2024 Regatta Tatau promises even more exhilarating action as teams continue to compete for supremacy on Batang Anap’s waters.

Also present were Tatau District Officer Jabang Juntan, Pemanca Gerosen Jubin, and other community leaders.
