LINGGA: The Regatta Lingga 2023 promises to be an exciting spectacle as it gears up to take place from Dec 8 to 10 along the picturesque Lingga River.
This eagerly anticipated event was officially announced during a preparation meeting chaired by Lingga District Officer Frank Lani, who is also the event steering committee chairman yesterday.
Among the highlights are a series of captivating events are the Ratu Kebaya beauty pageant, Lingga Idol singing competition, ‘Pentas Rakyat’, ‘Konsert Rakyat’, and thrilling contests such as the ‘Gendang dan Tandak Melayu’ competition.
There will also be various engaging activities like market stalls, development exhibitions, and entrepreneurship showcases.
One of the most exciting additions to this year’s Regatta is the introduction of the “Power Boat” event, set to kick off on Sept 7.
In a generous gesture of support, Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor presented a contribution of RM20,000 to the Regatta Lingga Steering Committee to aid in the preparations for the exciting event.
The Regatta Lingga 2023 promises to be a magnificent celebration of Lingga’s rich cultural heritage and a testament to the dedication of the organisers to bringing an unforgettable experience to the community and visitors alike.
