SIBU: Hornland Dance Theatre (HDT) will be holding a new event called Rejang Riverside Festival at Rejang Esplanade here on Mar 30 (Sat) from 4 pm to 10.30 pm.
Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee is expected to officiate at the event’s opening ceremony at 8 pm and deliver his keynote address.
According to HDT executive secretary, Pet Leh Na, the event is supported by Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak under the Facilitation Fund.
She stated the festival was an outdoor site-specific performance event.
Beside dance performances by local groups and invited groups from West Malaysia and Singapore, she said the event would also feature an ethnic costume fashion show, singing, a musical recital, a drawing competition and vendor stalls.
“The audience gets to explore Rejang Esplanade while the activities are being carried out,” added Pet.
