KUCHING: Rela (Volunteer Corps Malaysia) members in the state are reminded to maintain their good work and to uphold high discipline and integrity.

The reminder came from Rela deputy director general Roslan Mat Nong during a breaking of fast with Rela members, staff and officers of several state and federal departments and agencies in Sarawak at Rela Sarawak headquarters here yesterday.

He also commended the good work and commitment of some 365,000 Rela members in Sarawak.

During the event Roslan also present cheques to seven widows of Rela personnel who died in service under their group insurance claims while two Rela members received their cheques for medical claims.

Meanwhile, 18 Rela members received gifts under the Khidmat Bakti Rela while 10 orphans from the Laila Taib Orphanage also received Raya gifts from Roslan.

He also presented crutches to Adam Irfan Muizzuddin, 10, the son of a Rela member who fractured his leg in a road accident.
