LAWAS: A 33-year-old People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) officer was killed in an accident near RKB Banting here today.
The accident happened at 8.10am at KM1 Jalan Punang /Kuala Lawas.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased has been identified as Zulhilmi Asnan, from Kampung Dato Kuala Lawas.
“He was heading towards Lawas town from Kampung Punang when he collided with a car that was making a sudden exit from a junction,” he said.
The man died on the spot due to serious injuries he sustained following the impact.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Roas Transport Act 1987.
