SARIKEI: Chee Hui Kiong, 36, was found at Sungai Setebu on the second day of search operations by the Fire and Rescue Operations (Bomba) search team from Sarikei fire station some 100 feet from the nipah forest, yesterday (May 4).

Bomba said the victim was found in a leaning position at 1.41pm.

There was also a wound on the victim’s left arm and neck.

The victim’s body was extracted by the search team and was handed over to the police at 2.10pm and the operations ended at 14.20pm.

Earlier, Sarikei fire station received a report from the Sarikei district police on May 3 that Chee was reported to have drowned in Sungai Setebu.

The firemen were despatched at 9.22pm that night and the search operations started at 9.29pm.

However, the search operations was suspended at 10.30pm with no clue found.
