MIRI: The renovation and upgrading works on Masjid Abu Bakar As-Siddiq at Desa Senadin here has been completed.

Minister for Transport Sarawak Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Saturday, visited the mosque to inspect the works done.

Previously known as Surau Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Desa Senadin, it was elevated to a mosque on July 1 last year.

Since then, work to upgrade and renovate the mosque was carried out to enable it to accommodate the increasing Muslim population in the area.

The project costs RM650,000.

Recently, committee members of the mosque sought assistance from Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman to tar-seal the road and car park at the mosque compound.

The tar-sealing of the car park project was not included in the upgrading works.

During the visit, Lee pledged RM10,000 fund for the mosque to improve its facilities.
