MIRI: The repair works of the Miri Central Police Station’s roof is nearing completion, as 90 per cent almost completed and is scheduled to be fully finished by the end of this month.

The project aims to solve the long-standing water leakage issues within the 71-year-old building, which gets worse especially during heavy rains as the water seep into the concrete building.

To remedy the situation, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting held an emergency meeting with the Miri Public Works Department and has allocated RM150,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) grant to fund the repairs and improve other facilities.

Recently, Ting along with the contractor visited the site to monitor the progress of the repairs, which began on August 19.

During the visit, he expressed his appreciation to the Miri Public Works Department and the contractor for their efforts in ensuring that the project is according to schedule.

Ting also called on the federal government support, urging them to prioritise the construction of a new Miri Central Police Station in the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan, to provide the city with a modern facility.
