SIBU: Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana is committed to helping youths in his constituency who wish to pursue higher education.
He said he would continue working with non-governmental organisations, especially the Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU), in this matter.
Anyi added that the DUN Ngemah Service Centre would provide one-off assistance to those who wish to further their studies to diploma and degree levels.
He was speaking at the Majlis Ngiling Bidai SDNU Seduan here recently.
According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the ceremony was attended by some 100 people.
Apart from that, he also said organising such events was very much in line with the role of NGOs in keeping Dayak culture alive, especially in urban areas.
Also present were Sibu SDNU chairman Chambai Lindong, Seduan SDNU head and organising chairman Ngali Genam, Sibu Ukas supervisor Jelani Ajang, Selangau District Iban community leader Mathew Ganggang, Kanowit District Chinese community leader Leong Khing Hee and Sgt Bidat.
