BINTULU: Miri MP Chiew Choon Man is pleased with the suggestion to retain Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until the end of the parliamentary term.

This proposal, made by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, was highlighted during the Seven Years with YAB Sarawak Premier townhall session at the Hikmah Exchange in Kuching on Saturday night.

Chiew said that the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the Unity Government greatly appreciate the support provided by the Premier.

He also endorsed Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s proposal for a bill ensuring the government’s continuity until the end of the term. He said this bill could enhance governmental stability while adhering to democratic principles and the country’s constitution.

“With clear support and commitment from key figures in the Unity Government’s component parties, we foresee ongoing political stability. This unity will counteract any attempts by individuals seeking to destabilise the government for personal gain,” he said.
