SARIKEI: Repok state assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has called for tighter preventive measures to successfully contain the spread of Covid-19 in Sarikei.
He said Sarikei district’s red status had raised concerns among the people.
He also said that the government had initiated the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme and hoped that more people would actively register for the vaccine through the MySejahtera application so that the target of having 80 percent of the state’s population vaccinated could be achieved sooner.
Huang urged all the people to work with the government closely by complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set to curb the spread of the virus.
He revealed that he had completed the Covid-19 vaccination doses and urged the people to register as soon as possible to strengthen the epidemic prevention measures.
“I want to thank Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for his efforts in curbing Covid-19 in the state and also the frontliners such as medical staff, military personnel and police for their joint efforts in combating the disease,” said Huang.
