KAPIT: Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong recently chaired a meeting with staff of his service centre here to discuss efficient methods of distributing essential food items to rural folks in particular those residing in longhouses at Upper Rajang and Ulu Baleh who have difficulty in obtaining food especially during the movement control order period.

Also present at the meeting were a political secretary to the chief minister, Nicholas Kudi Jantai, his personal assistants Anyie Kumbong and Seta Engkah and local community leaders.

On April 1, Ugak and Assistant Minister of Public Utility Datuk Liwan Lagang who is also Belaga assemblyman, made personal donations to purchase essential food items such as rice, salt, sugar, biscuit, coffee and tea for about 250 households in Sungai Metah, Sungai Merit and Sungai Pilai who were affected by the MCO.
