SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii showed concern for the living conditions in a recent visit to longhouses in Sarikei constituency and allocated funds for the repair of key infrastructure, including roofs, floors, ceilings, mats, and fans.

The Sarikei MP also highlighted that ongoing development in the rural areas, including road and drainage improvements, is being actively pursued to ensure that all communities receive appropriate attention.

He visited several areas including at Sungai Lumau, Bukit Embawang, Sungai Nyempal, Sungai Anggie, and Sungai Gerugu to assess the living conditions of the residents and work towards improving local infrastructure.

At the longhouses that were visited, Huang engaged in discussions with the residents to identify ways to improve basic facilities in their villages.

During his visits, Huang expressed his gratitude to the residents of the longhouses and the multicultural community for their support during the 15th General Election (PRU 15) and 12th Sarawak State Election (PRN 12).

“Your support has given me the opportunity to serve the people and provide better services to everyone,” he said.

Additionally, Huang noted that the Sarawak government, led by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, has allocated funds to enhance basic infrastructure, build places of worship and schools, and improve the quality of life for the people.
