LIMBANG: Works to upgrade both the Taman Desa Pabahanan (TDP) and the Limbang District Council (MDL) football fields here are progressing well.
The TDP field is expected to be completed in two months’ time with 80 percent of the work done so far while the MDL field is expected to be completed in a month’s time.
“Depending on good weather, works on both fields may be completed even faster than expected,” said Agriculture Assistant Minister Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail yesterday.
He had earlier inspected both fields to get updates on their work progress. Both projects were implemented using his minor rural project funds and yesterday was the second time Dr Abdul Rahman inspected the projects. The first time was Dec 18 last year.
Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Bukit Kota assemblyman, voiced his satisfaction with the progress of the projects.
On another note, he said Bukit Kota state constituency will have three football fields that could cater to state-level football tournaments by 2020.
Also present were Limbang district officer Mohamad Syamil Jumain, Limbang district council assistant engineer Nur Allilzan Ismail and councillor Frederick Lalung Ngilo.
