MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo hopes that Mukah district would always remain a green zone.
“We hope that Covid-19 would not spread here, although some cases have been reported nearby such as in Dalat and Selangau,” he said when handing over study incentives to 16 recipients at the Tellian Service Centre here on Thursday (Jan 28).
The former Balingian assemblyman said he also felt sad about the current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as it directly affected the socioeconomic life of the people.
During the event, Yussibnosh extended his thanks to law enforcers including the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) for assisting in manning the road blocks in the affected areas in Sarawak.
“They play an important role in helping the authorities to contain the spread of the virus,” he said.
He also said it was understandable that the movement control order (MCO) in Sibu and conditional movement control order (CMCO) in other divisions were extended to Feb 14 as the number of Covid-19 cases in the state is still high.
