Rep inspects RTP projects worth RM980k

PADAWAN: Transport Minister and Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil went to inspect eight Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects totalling to RM980,000 during his walkabout to get close with Bidayuh Pebiya community here last Saturday (March 13).

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), those projects were approved under Mambong RTP fund for the year 2017 until this year.

Two of the projects have been completed namely, reconstruction of culvert parking space in Kampung Biya Assum worth RM300,000 and upgrading of Kampung Biya Assum community hall worth RM100,000.

Other projects were the Central Waste Collection Centre worth RM130,000 involving 12 villages at Biya area; reconstruction of closed drainage at Kampung Biya Assum community hall (RM100,000); upgrading of parking space at Kampung Biya Assum community hall (RM50,000); upgrading of Kampung Biya Kiding road (RM100,000); reconstruction of parking space and pedestrian walkway (RM100,000); and upgrading of St Monica Church in Kampung Biya Kakas (RM100,000).

During the visit, Jerip also presented minor rural project (MRP) grants for the year 2020 worth RM135,000 to several villages and associations in Padawan.

The recipients are Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Biya Kiding (RM10,000), JKKK Kampung Biya Kakas (RM30,000), JKKK Kampung Biya Assum (RM10,000), Kampung Biya Sepit Youth Bureau (RM10,000), JKKK Kampung Annah Sadir (RM5,000), St Bernard Anglican Chapel of Kampung Annah Sadir (RM10,000), JKKK Kampung Pain Bojong, BRS (RM10,000), Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Pangkalan Ampat (RM20,000) and Saint Philip’s Parish Padawan (RM20,000).

Datuk Jerip hoped that with the implementation of several RTP projects and the handing over of the MRP grants, it would be able to spur development in the area.
