SIMANGGANG: Longhouse chiefs have expressed their unwavering support to Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis for his performance as the people’s representative and for bringing development to area.
This was said in a press statement issued on an ‘Info On Wheels’ programme at Rumah Anchon Watt which served as a dialogue session between government agencies and longhouses chiefs in the area.
The programme was attended by Harden and gathered nine longhouses chiefs for the programme, which was held on Saturday (Nov 28).
The longhouses chiefs told Harden — who is also the Assistant Minister of Community Wellbeing — that they are aware that only the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government can bring comprehensive development in Sarawak, unlike the opposition.
“They (longhouses chiefs) have realised and understood that the standard of politics brought by the opposition is capable of stifling development that is well planned by the current government,” said the statement.
Also during the programme, Harden presented an allocation of RM5,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) to the village development and security committee (JKKK) of Rumah Anchon Watt, and RM3,000 for its Women Bureau.
